February Sadhana
Hi loves!
Happy February :) Some of you might know that I've spent the past month in deep study and learning with some of my favorite yoga teachers in New York City. I feel inspired, invigorated, and I've learned a lot of new information that I am excited to weave into my teaching and into our sangha offerings! I hope to see you this Tuesday February 3rd for our monthly live call! xx

This month, I want to invite you into a softer kind of study.
Not a training, not a fixing, but instead a listening and a noticing.
In Tom Myers’ anatomy book (highly recommend!!) we’re reminded that posture is not a position, it’s a process. A living conversation between gravity, fascia, history, and habit. Your body isn’t holding itself wrong; it’s holding itself honestly.
Throughout February, I invite you to notice how you inhabit yourself.
How you walk when no one is watching.
How you sit when you’re thinking.
How you stand when you’re waiting.
How you move when you’re tired, excited, guarded, or at ease.
See if you can observe these patterns not as problems, but as language. Your fascia remembers, your tissues adapt, and your posture tells a story shaped by repetition, emotion, and meaning.
When you find yourself slumping forward, bracing, leaning, locking, or hovering... take a pause. The intention is not to correct right away but instead to wonder and inquire.
What might this habit be protecting?
What inner state does this shape support?
What does my body believe about the world in this moment?
I encourage you to write things down this month. ie:
-
“I hold my breath when I stand still.”
-
“My chest collapses when I’m uncertain.”
-
“My stride shortens when I feel rushed.”
-
“I soften and widen when I feel safe.”
Let your body speak before the mind interprets.
In the language of anatomy, we might say that lines of tension reveal lines of adaptation. In the language of the inner world, those same lines may reveal how you meet support, how you negotiate effort, how you orient toward life.
Awareness is the practice. Over time, being witnessed by yourself may be enough to invite choice, space, and new possibilities. Fascia reorganizes when it’s given time, safety, and attention. & so do we.
Move through February as a listener.
Let posture be poetry.
Let movement be meaning.
Let your body be heard.
Feel free to share with me anything you observe. I am always here!
With curiosity and care,
Jeanine
